Digital Citizenship and Literacy Reflection

     Respect and online netiquette

It is important to treat others the way you want to be treated and not be a cyber bully. It is also important to follow the rule on online. for example if you are on a website and it says only 17+ do not go on to the site. Another thing is copyright. the definition of copyright is protection over the creators work. An example is, if I were to go on to a site and I liked an image and wanted to post it on a blog where I have millions of people on it. I would have to get permission from the creator because his/her work is copyrighted. So, I would have to ask for permission then give credit because if I don’t follow the rules I could get into a big predicament.

If you are confused about copyright and fair use it would
to see helpful videos about fair use and copyright.

  1. I agree with what you said about copyright because it can get you in a lot of trouble if you don’t give credit and I have heard a lot of stories about people that have gotten in a lot of trouble from not following the rules of copyright. When I was reading about copyright I was thinking about how helpful fair use is. It is so helpful to be able to use things online as long as you follow the rules. In your post you said that you needed to ask for permission from the creator if you can use their work. Do you know how I would ask someone for permission on a photo?
